Variety reports that indie producers Joel Kastelberg and Moonstone Entertainment's Etchie Stroh are re-launching
The Howling franchise with The Howling: Reborn.
Former studio marketing executive Joe Nimziki will make his feature directorial debut from his own script.
The original, which was directed by Joe Dante from a script by John Sayles, starred Dee Wallace-Stone as a news anchor stalked by a serial killer who turns out to be a werewolf.
The film is due to start shooting in February for a Halloween release.

Minu jaoks on hea see, et uus film tulemas, sest PSH olemine seal sees ei ole eriline üllatus. Aga väga kõva sellegipoolest.

Jep, sama siin. Mul isegi suht ükskõik, kes PTA filmis mängib, see on ilmselge, et film tuleb ülikõva. Lihtsalt kinnitus, et järgmine või ülejärgmine aasta saab uut PTA filmi näha made my day.

Kas sa alustasid kohe postitusena või tegid esmalt mingi xls/doc faili? Ise reastasin väiksed top'd excelis ja hiljem sorteerisin, vastavalt tujule. Oli töömahukas, kuid muhe ajaviide. Tunde ega ka tundi sellele nüüd küll ei läinud.

Esiteks olen ma nii sillas, et Robert Rodriguez'i meeletult vanast stsenaariumist pealkirjaga "Predators" tehakse tõesti film, sest esiteks ma tahan uut "Predatori" ja teiseks kirjutas selle Rodriguez, aga siin on huvitav uudis :
Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody has signed to star in a big-budget reboot of the Predator science-fiction films, entertainment industry press reported. Brody, 36, who scooped best actor honours at the 2003 Academy Awards for his role in Holocaust drama The Pianist, will play a mercenary who battles the fearsome alien hunters, Daily Variety reported.
Variety reported that the relaunch of the franchise - titled Predators - had been set for July 2010 and would be Brody's first action hero role.
The report said Brody's character would be similar to that of Arnold Schwarzenegger's in the original 1987 film. Brody will play a mercenary whose men are gradually picked off by the aliens.
Fox is optimistic the film will spring a new franchise, and Brody has signed for future installments, the report said. However, news of Brody's casting in the role has raised a few eyebrows. Patrick Goldstein wrote in the LA Times: "Does this sound like a miscasting of epic proportions or what?" Meanwhile the AV Club said: "It looks like he may disappoint longtime fans like myself in new, wholly unexpected ways. "
The film will be helped by Spy Kids and Desperado direstor, Robert Rodriguez.

In a recent interview Ain't It Cool News has had with Robert Rodriguez the following details were told:
- Though the script is not written yet, the plot "involves a very intense group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors (that are not always from outside their group). So like the original movie, the title does have a double meaning". The story is also supposed to be character driven, based on a draft that Rodriguez wrote back in 1994.
- The film is trying to "(get) as far away as possible from the AVP movies". Rodriguez claimed that "As to how this movie will be viewed, one of the guys at Fox told me "No one is ever going to talk about AVP again after this film, I will stake my life on it".
- K.N.B. Effects Group will be providing the special effects, claiming "we don't want to go crutching on CG for this".
- The film is to be produced though Troublemaker Studios, in an attempt to make the films a "non-studio picture".
- According to filmshaft, the following people have been cast: Adrien Brody, "That 70s Show" star Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Danny Trejo, Oleg Taktarov, Louiz Ozawa, "4400" star Mahershalalhashbaz Ali and "The Shield's" Walton Goggins.
Hea on see, et nüüd saame Yautja koduplaneeti näha. "AVPR"-is näidati seda küll viivuks, kuid nüüd toimub nähtavasti terve film või suur osa sellest seal.
